Prof. Fricke representing the Free State of Saxony at the AACII Congress

On February 12, 2025, the 2nd Aerospace Aviation Congress Interdisciplinary International (AACII) took place in Nuremberg under the motto “One World - One Space - One Goal: Together for a better World”.

Prof. Fricke represented the Free State of Saxony in his duties as Aerospace Coordinator. He gave an overview of the Saxon aerospace industry and presented the Smart Mobility Lab and the AirMetro Research Training Group in more detail as part of the Science Talk. Afterwards, Prof. Fricke personally presented the advantages of drone research in Saxony to the Minister of State Joachim Herrmann, MdL (Minister of the Interior of the Free State of Bavaria).

Another highlight of the 2nd AACII was the honouring of Dr.-Ing. Hannes Braßel with the Global AACII Award for Aerospace. He received the award for his dissertation entitled “Enhanced Surveillance and Conflict Prediction for Airport Apron Operation using LiDAR Sensing”.
