Advisory and counselling services of TU Dresden
A special form of advice is offered by the Writing Centre of TU Dresden (SZD). Whether in an individual writing consultation, in workshops or at the 'Long Night of Writing' - the SZD supports you in every phase of academic writing, from the initial idea to planning to the final text.

Examinations
While you can register online for most of your exams, there are exceptions, for example in the AQua area or in the supplementary area of the Master's programme. You can find all information about the examination offices and about the registration and recognition of your examined assessments here:
Examinations
All institutes of the Faculty expect their students to work in a correct and academic manner. This means that students engage with a topic critically and in detail, commit themselves to objectivity in their work and produce their papers independently without outside help. This independence must be assured in writing at the end of each paper by means of a declaration of authorship.
Academic writing includes accurate marking of quotations and paraphrases from other works. If this is not done, the paper in question is a plagiarism and thus an attempt to defraud, which results in de-registration. The Faculty's plagiarism guideline specifies what constitutes plagiarism and the procedure to be followed in a case of plagiarism.
The formal criteria for marking citations and paraphrases (citation style, etc.) vary depending on the institute and the Chair. Please inform yourself at the relevant institution before writing your thesis.
Continuing education
TU Dresden offers you the opportunity to continue your education free of charge even beyond your degree programme, to gain new skills or to deepen already existing ones.
It is often possible to have attended courses credited within the AQua area or the supplementary area.
Studying and more
Studying in Dresden is not just limited to the courses offered by your faculty. The University and other Dresden institutions provide a productive study environment that offers you numerous opportunities to shape your student life individually.
Acts and regulations
Consulting the examination and study regulations you can check the content and structure of your studies. The higher education acts form the corresponding legal framework.

During your studies you will be confronted with a multitude of different institutions inside and outside of TU Dresden - it may sometimes be difficult to keep an overview of them. A sorted links page is intended to help you get to your destination quickly.
