At this year's ITMA 2023, the international textile machinery exhibition and most important platform for the entire textile machinery industry, which took place in Milan from 8 to 14 June 2023, Mr. Philipp Weigel was awarded the ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award in the category "Research & Innovation Excellence Award" for his excellent student research project"Numerical simulation of the structural and draw-out behaviour of parametrically generated profiled carbon polymer yarns" . He received the 1st prize, which is endowed with EUR 10,000.
CEMATEX President Ernesto Maurer presented the prize money and certificate to the lucky winners during ITMA 2023 in Milan, Italy.
The 2nd and 3rd prizes went to graduates of the Institute of Textile Technology at RWTH Aachen University.
We would like to congratulate all the award winners and wish them all the best and every success for their professional and personal futures.
The ITMA Sustainable Innovation Award was established by CEMATEX to recognize the collaborative efforts of the global textile industry to promote corporate sustainability through innovative solutions and to encourage outstanding industry-specific research.
The award comprises two categories: an Industry Excellence Award for textile and apparel manufacturers and a Research & Innovation Excellence Award open to Master's students.
The work is of great scientific interest for the development of high-performance, resource-saving carbon concrete components with maximum material efficiency and sustainability as well as for the simulative description and digital design of the reinforcement structure.
