Impact on nature, the environment and regional value creation: Three projects at TUD receive the 2024 EKU Prize
The Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (SMEKUL) awarded the 2024 EKU Future Prize for Energy, Climate, Environment on December 2, 2024. Three projects from TUD Dresden University of Technology were honored for their efforts in the EKU Idea category. They will each receive prize money amounting to EUR 2,500.

- Architecture Talks 2025, Central University Administration, Directorate Student Affairs and Continuing Education, ServiceCenterStudies
- Experience and shape biodiversity: Promotion of the SDGs (BioSDGs), International Institute Zittau, Chair of Business Administration, Esp. Environmental Management
- Tharandt Future Day 2024, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, Department of Forest Sciences in cooperation with the Young Forestry Network (German: Junges Netzwerk Forst)
More about the EKU Future Prize:
This year, the Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (SMEKUL) is awarding the 2024 EKU Future Prize for Energy, Climate, Environment to 249 projects from companies, scientific institutions, municipalities and stakeholders from civil society. The prize money amounting to more than EUR 1M is awarded in the two categories EKU Idea for project ideas and EKU Success for completed projects. The winners were selected from a total of 359 submissions after a multi-stage evaluation process.
The EKU Future Prize for Energy, Climate, Environment is part of an initiative from the Saxon state government's Start 2020 immediate action program and was awarded for the first time in 2020. The Saxon State Ministry for Energy, Climate Protection, Environment and Agriculture (SMEKUL) bestows the EKU future prize on projects which make an exemplary contribution to ecologically sustainable development in Saxony and to the protection of our climate, resources, natural landscapes and the environment.
