STEM scholarship holders introduced: Emily Pilz
Emily Pilz is 19 years old, graduated from high school in Döbeln and is studying Molecular Biology and Biotechnology at TUD
- That's why I decided to study at TU Dresden:
When choosing TUD, the proximity to my home played a role for me on the one hand, but I was particularly attracted by the subject breadth of the degree program, which combines parts of both biology and biotechnology and thus also offers a wide range of future prospects. The research institutes, such as the CMSB, were also a reason for my decision. - That inspires me:
I find it exciting to try out new things. Due to my enthusiasm for plants, a small plant empire is gradually developing in my apartment. Sport is also a great way for me to balance my everyday life. - MINT means to me:
That new doors keep opening that change the way I look at the (surrounding) world. - I was totally surprised in my first semester:
How so many people fit into a single bus on route 61. - I want to be able to answer this (these) question(s) after my studies:
How can I practically apply biological processes and approaches and make them tangible in order to improve people's quality of life? - If you have a message for prospective and/or first-year students, what is it?
Be open to new things and don't be put off - the beginning of your studies may seem sobering, but many things are not as bad as they may seem and with good friends you can get through difficult times.
