The Institute of Concrete Structures (IMB) at the TUD Dresden University of Technology (TUD) has been teaching for over 100 years. Today, four Chairs belong to the Institute. The topics in teaching and research range from concrete and steel- or carbon-reinforced concrete in all its facets in experiment and simulation, to sustainability and resource efficiency in connection with building in existing structures, the reinforcement of load-bearing structures to support structures for onshore and offshore wind turbines, railroad bridges for high-speed traffic and structural monitoring. At the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Otto Mohr Laboratory (OML) of the Institute of Concrete Structures (Prof. Dr.-Ing. Steffen Marx) is seeking to fill a project position as an employee in teaching, research and material testing facilities in the field of measurement technology (m/f/d) (subject to the personal requirements E 7 TV-L) until 31.01.2028 (fixed term according to TzBfG) as soon as possible , subject to available funds.

Tasks:

• Metrological preparation and monitoring of laboratory tests as part of a research project on topics of solid construction, e.g. recording of forces, deformations and temperatures of structures, components and test specimens made of reinforced concrete with conventional measuring systems and with fiber optic sensors (FOS)
• Set-up of test stands and integration of measurement technology on the test stands (i.e. set-up, installation and settings) in accordance with the working procedures agreed/developed with the scientific staff. Work and test plans agreed/developed with the scientific staff
• Support in analyzing and documenting the measurement data obtained
• Maintenance, cleaning and care of the measuring and testing equipment used
• Calibration of measuring sensors and measuring devices
• Training in the correct handling of fiber optic measuring systems according to the specifications of the scientific staff Instruction in the correct handling of fiber optic measuring systems according to the specifications of the scientific staff incl. administration of the associated inventory as well as instruction of personnel in the handling of the measuring technology

Requirements

• Successfully completed vocational training in mechatronics, electronics, electrical installation, electrical engineering, information technology or automation technology or in a similarly recognized profession suitable for the job with references to the field of measurement technology with equivalent knowledge and skills
• Experience in the field of conventional measurement sensors and/or optical measurement systems (fiber optics, photogrammetry) as well as a willingness to learn and interest in new measurement technologies are desirable
• Good knowledge of data acquisition and common MS Office applications

• Willingness to participate in further training measures
