To kick off the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's annual meeting, Federal President Frank-Walter Steinmeier invited the guests and current fellows to the official reception in the park of Bellevue Palace in Berlin on 28 June 2018.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation sponsors young leaders from emerging or developing countries outside Europe and primarily serves to promote exchange and global networking among this group of individuals. At present, approximately 600 scientists from all over the world and from a wide range of disciplines receive such a fellowship.
Among them is M. Sc. Gulnara Anapiiaeva from Central Asian Kyrgyzstan, who is currently a guest at the Chair of Waste and Recycling Management of Prof. Christina Dornack and is conducting research on organic waste in agriculture as a sustainable energy source.
