1. standing doctoral committee
The Standing Doctoral Committee is responsible for conducting the Faculty's doctoral procedures. The committee's tasks include examining the admission requirements for a doctorate, accepting doctoral students, opening doctoral procedures, appointing reviewers and deciding on problematic and special cases.

3. requirements for admission to the doctorate
The requirements of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics for applicants for admission to doctoral studies are formulated in § 6 of the doctoral regulations dated 09.08.2018. In addition, according to § 8 para. 5, you need a university lecturer or a TUD Young Investigator from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics who agrees to supervise your doctorate.
4 Application for acceptance as a doctoral student (admission)
Admission to the doctorate is granted upon application to the Standing Doctoral Committee of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics in accordance with § 8 of the Doctoral Degree Regulations of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics dated 09.08.2018. The Standing Doctoral Committee will check whether you meet all admission requirements.
The application for acceptance as a doctoral student is made via the online system Promovendus. Promovendus can be accessed at any time via the Internet. You need a valid ZIH user account to log in to Promovendus.
Employees and enrolled students automatically receive a ZIH user login. If you do not yet have a ZIH user login at TU Dresden, you can apply for a so-called ZIH guest login via your supervising university professor who will supervise your doctoral project. You can find the application on the website of the Center for Information Services and High Performance Computing (ZIH) at TU Dresden. Your central contact person for all questions and problems with your ZIH user account can be contacted via the TU Dresden Service Desk.
An application document for acceptance as a doctoral student is created via Promovendus, which you must submit in the original with the following documents to of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics:

- Officially certified copy and, if applicable, translations in German or English of the university degree relevant for admission
- Officially certified copy and, if applicable, translations into German or English of subject overviews with grades of the admission-relevant university degree
- Officially certified copy and, if applicable, translations into German or English of all other university degree certificates
- Simple copy of the certificate of general higher education entrance qualification (usually Abitur)
- Tabular curriculum vitae with a description of the academic career including documentary evidence of additional studies or examinations already completed in officially certified form
- Originaldeclaration of readiness from the responsible university lecturer in the faculty, including the signature of the university lecturer in the case of cooperative procedures
- Written proof (receipt) that a certificate of good conduct to be sent directly to the faculty* by the responsible registration authority has been applied for in accordance with Section 30 (5) of the Federal Central Criminal Register Act (BZRG).

5 Official certifications and equivalence check of foreign university degrees
For acceptance as a doctoral student, you will need certified copies and, if necessary, certified translations of your university certificates as well as certified subject overviews with grades. You can find information on the certification of documents that were not issued by TU Dresden on the website of the TU Dresden Certification Office.
If you have obtained a degree abroad or have foreign citizenship, your documents will be sent to the International Office of TU Dresden for an equivalence check after you have applied for acceptance as a doctoral student by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. The online database www.anabin.de allows you to find out in advance about the equivalence of your degree.
6. enrolment in the doctoral program
Enrolment in the doctoral program is voluntary. Further details are regulated by the enrollment regulations of TU Dresden. To apply for enrollment in doctoral studies, please use the following website of the Admissions Office.
Please note that you can only be enrolled as a doctoral student if you have first been included in the doctoral candidate list of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics by the Standing Doctoral Committee.
7 Additional services
Admission to the list of doctoral candidates may be subject to conditions (e.g. completion of an aptitude test) in accordance with Section 7 of the Doctoral Degree Regulations of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics for degrees from other disciplines. These are determined by the Standing Doctoral Committee and communicated to the prospective doctoral student with the letter of admission for acceptance as a doctoral student.
Proof of successful completion must be provided at the latest when the doctoral procedure is opened.
8 Opening of the doctoral procedure
The application for the opening of the doctoral procedure is made via the online system Promovendus. Promovendus can be accessed at any time via the Internet. You need a valid ZIH user account to be able to log in to Promovendus.

* Please note that you must submit the following documents together with the application for the opening of the doctoral procedure:
- Curriculum vitae in tabular form with a description of your academic career
- A copy of the notification of acceptance as a doctoral student in accordance with § 8 and, if applicable, documentary evidence of the fulfillment of any conditions imposed
- The dissertation and an abstract in five bound copies each in German or English and in electronic form
- A list of scientific publications
- Proof of successful participation in two cross-professorial doctoral courses, each of which is recognized by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Proof must be provided in the form of confirmations from the respective subject representative as well as proof of successful participation in two further academic achievements in method-oriented doctoral courses, each of which is recognized by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Please note the information on acquiring certificates of achievement.
- Written proof (receipt) that a certificate of good conduct to be sent to the faculty in accordance with § 30 para. 5 of the Federal Central Criminal Register Act (BZRG), which is not older than 6 months, has been applied for at the responsible registration office
- The doctoral student's written declaration on the opening of the doctoral procedure including the current date and signature
9. certificate of good conduct
To apply for acceptance as a doctoral student and for the opening of the doctoral procedure, you will need written proof (receipt) that a certificate of good conduct in accordance with Section 30 (5) of the Federal Central Criminal Register Act (BZRG) has been applied for from the responsible registration authority. The certificate of good conduct must not be older than 6 months at the time of submission or opening of the doctoral procedure (§9 (1) 8 PromO2018). When applying for the certificate of good conduct (e.g. at the registration office /Bürgeramt Dresden Plauen, Nöthnitzer Str. 2, 1187 Dresden), the following address must be given:

10. publication of the dissertation in the SLUB
After a successful defense, you must publish a few copies in a publishing house or the SLUB. For further information, please refer to the doctoral degree regulations.
The SLUB has also provided information on the formal requirements for printed copies and electronic publication.
11. completed doctorates and alumni network
The doctorates completed so far from 2021 onwards can be viewed in the doctoral archive.
We would be delighted if you would like to stay in contact with the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics after completing your doctorate and become a member of the Faculty's alumni association, nexus e.V..
You can register for the alumni network specifically for early-career researchers at any time in the Promovendus online system. If you no longer have a valid ZIH user account, please use the alumni form. Registration is of course voluntary.
