Final conference TUD-SYLBER-BBS

At the final conference of TUD-SYLBER-BBS on 24.11.2023, the project was looked back on, project results and future ideas were presented and discussed.

The Chair of Vocational Education, represented by Prof. Stephan Abele & Martin Ritter for sub-project 1, together with Prof. Rolf Körber and Dirk Wohlrabe from sub-project 2, organized the workshop "Securing your own young talent - Teacher Training - Vocational Schools in technical departments today // Recruitment problems and access to the vocational teaching profession in technical departments". Around 20 participants from ministries, education authorities and schools were given an insight into the findings from both projects. The resulting implications were discussed together.

Sub-project 1 investigated the causes of the shortage of students in the industrial-technical teaching profession and developed an information event based on the recruitment potential derived from this. This was tested and continuously improved in several schools and is currently being converted into a digital tool that will be available to all interested parties. Sub-project 2 is responsible for the SchulAQ study option, in which students work as school assistants at a school while simultaneously completing an undergraduate teaching degree. The colleagues reported on the structure of this study option and provided insights into the accompanying research.

Both projects left a positive impression and were discussed constructively. Overall, both approaches seem to meet with approval and will continue to be pursued with interest.
