PhilFak: Submission of theses - digital submission option is further extended (decision of the Examination Committee of 13.09.2023)
1. the Examination Committee of the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science decided on 13.09.2023 to continue to allow digital submission for theses - especially as an option to meet deadlines. Print copies would only be required here if one or both reviewers insist on the print form because they cannot/do not want to read the thesis on screen. However, we will inform you of this after you have submitted your work.
If you choose this form of submission, please do not send us any print copies for the time being.
In the case of a digital submission, please proceed as follows:
Send an email address to the Examination Office by the specified submission date at the latest and attach the file with your work as an attachment. Please use the PDF file format (also in your own interest - keyword formatting). If this is not possible for any reason, you can switch to a Word file. As the second attachment to your e-mail, please send us a scan/photo of the back of the "Information sheet for the preparation of the thesis" This is the signed additional declaration of independence and, in the case of Master's theses, also the decision to allow third parties to inspect the thesis. Please check whether we have already received confirmation from your second assessor. If not, please also attach this proof (signature on the admission form or e-mail).
2 Of course, it is also possible to submit your thesis in person at the Examination Office. However, you must book an appointment in advance using the appointment booking form!
3. printed copies can also be submitted by post or via the deadline mailbox (see below).
What do I need to bear in mind here? As described on the information sheet you received when registering your thesis, please submit two bound copies, each with a bound declaration of independence with original signature, two digital copies (CD-ROM - can be burned in the copy store) and the declaration of independence with original signaturefor the examination file on the back of the information sheet. Here, too, any missing confirmation from your second assessor should be enclosed.
When submitting by post , the postmark applies to meet the deadline. Please send us a scan/photo of the proof of posting by e-mail in advance.
When submitting via the TU Dresden deadline mailbox - you will find it between the Tillich and Hülsse buildings (see site plan) - a flap that falls at 0:00 a.m. inside the box can be used to assign exactly when the mail was posted when it is emptied daily. This day is noted on the envelope by the Central Post Office. Please write our postal address on the envelope: School of Humanities and Social Sciences, Academic Affairs Office, Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences Examination Office. Please pack very thick papers individually so that they fit through the mail slot.
