HERStory - Exceptional female professors at TU Dresden

Making women in science more visible!

TU Dresden is working hard to highlight and recognize the achievements and role of women in science.

 

A number of historical female scientists have already been successfully made visible through targeted manner, and further initiatives are planned to make the significant and inspiring role of women in the past and present even more present in the future.

With the "HERStory" calendar, TUD's Diversity Management is once again presenting pioneers and excellent female scientists at our university in 2025. Twelve outstanding female professors and their biographies are shown. We show historical, emeritus and current female professors who, for example, were the first female professor in their field of research at TUD.

With her appointment in 1986, she became the first female professor in the School and Faculty of Engineering Sciences at TU Dresden, where she conducted research in the field of thermal engineering and energy supply. Between 1993 and 2020, she was the first female professor at the Faculty of Transport Sciences to conduct research into telecommunications and network economics as well as the networking of mobility and communication through the use of innovative digital services in passenger transport. As the first female professor in the Environmental Sciences department at TU Dresden, she devoted herself entirely to map technology from 1992 onwards. With her innovative research in digital cartography and map production, she contributed significantly to the modernization of this field of research. Experience now

The women depicted in the calendar were illustrated by the illustrator Sylvia Wolf using photographs.

Unfortunately, it is no longer possible to order or collect calendars for this edition, as all copies have already been sent out or handed out. We are very pleased with the great response and would already like to point out that there will be another calendar next year.
