Experience the circular economy live - excursion week from september 25-29, 2023
From 25.09.2023 to 29.09.2023, the Institute of Waste Management and Circular Economy conducted an excursion to a total of 13 waste management-related destinations in Germany.
A total of 13 students took part in the 5-day insight into the practice of the circular economy industry. The trip started in Dresden and went via Freiberg, Leipzig, Braunschweig, Salzigitter, Wolfsburg and Magdeburg. They visited residual waste incineration plants, landfills, recycling plants for various types of waste (including lightweight packaging waste, old electrical appliances and organic waste), plastics processing plants, a steelworks and an automotive production facility. A site near Leuna was also visited, where an active clean-up of contaminated sites is currently being carried out.
The trip was sponsored by the GFF with a grant of €700 to hire the minibuses. We would like to express our sincere thanks for the funding, without which the excursion could not have taken place.
The biennial round trip is equally important for the students and the companies visited, as the former get to know future fields of work and the latter can make contact with potential employees.
