Workshop at the 65th Spring Congress of the “Gesellschaft für Arbeitswissenschaft e.V.”

GfA Springcongress 2019
On the 27th of February 2019, the GADIAM team organized a workshop on the research objective of the project at the beginning of the 65th Spring Congress of the "Gesellschaft für Arbeitswissenschaft e.V." (GfA). The congress took place this year in Dresden at the "Institut für Arbeit und Gesundheit" of the "Deutschen Gesetzliche Unfallversicherung" (IAG of the DGUV) in co-operation with the "Institut für Technische Logistik und Arbeitssysteme". In addition to the project manager Mr. Prof. Dr. Dr. Hacker and the employees of the TU Dresden Ms. Dr. Pietrzyk (Arbeitsgruppe „Wissen-Denken-Handeln“) and Mr. Kirsch (Chair of Business Management, esp Management Accounting and Control) Mr. Dr. Rast was also present as a representative of the research partner "Deutsche MTM-Vereinigung e.V." to welcome the 15 workshop participants from practice and research.
After a short presentation of the research objective of GADIAM by Mr. Prof. Dr. Dr. Hacker an interesting and insightful exchange of experience followed. In this context, possible approaches for determining the time requirements for complex knowledge work from literature and practice were discussed. In addition, there was the question of how far any obstacles and disruptive factors have to be eliminated before a time requirement can be determined. At the end of the open discussion, ideas and experiences were discussed which could serve as aids to measure time requirements in a practicable way.
At the beginning of the second part of the workshop, Mr. Prof. Dr. Dr. Hacker gave a brief insight into the current status quo of the project and some procedures currently being considered, developed and tested. Afterwards the participants were able to ask questions about the presented procedures and the ideas were briefly discussed in the context of the previous exchange of experiences.
We would like to thank all those present for their valuable contributions, comments and shared experiences. In addition, our thanks also go to the organizers of the GfA Spring Congress for the opportunity to present an intermediate status of our research project to a selected public.
